Burst Surge Power Fail Simulator


The UCS500-M4 ultra-compact simulator is the most versatile tester to cover transient and power fail requirements according to international standards (basic and generic standards) and product/product family standards. For example:  

  • EN61000-4-4 Immunity to Fast Transient(EFT)/Burst,
  • EN61000-4-5 Immunity to Surge (CWG) Pulses and
  • EN61000-4-11 Immunity to Dips, Interrupts on the ac supply lines.

The UCS500-M4 is the most economic solution for tests during development as well as for full-compliant transient immunity tests and CE Marking for single phase or DC EUT's.

A 13 amp standard mains outlet ( seen in photo) with 4mm plugs at its rear connects to the front panel of the UCS-500 allowing an EUT to be powered up normally. Then a set of coloured leads on 4mm protected plug ends carrying the mains voltage plugs into the rear of the UCS 500 allowing synchronization for the various types of malfunction that the UCS 500 will introduce on the line viz.61000-4-X. Basically, the EUT is powered from the 13A socket as shown in picture with the control leads plugging into the UCS-500

  • Test voltage 200V - 5,500V ± 10%;100V - 2,750V ± 10% into 50ohm
  • Pulse shape 5/50ns into 50ohm and 1,000ohm
  • Rise time tr 5ns ± 30% into 50ohm; 5ns ± 30% into 1,000ohm
  • Pulse width td 50ns ± 30% into 50ohm; 50ns -15/+100ns into 1,000ohm
  • Source impedance 50ohm
  • Polarity Positive/negative
